Carrier Oil
A carrier oil is a type of oil used to dilute essential oils and absolutes before they are applied to the skin. Carrier oils are typically derived from the fatty parts of plants, such as seeds, nuts, or kernels, and are used in aromatherapy, massage, and skincare to safely carry essential oils onto the skin. They help prevent irritation or adverse reactions that might occur if concentrated essential oils were applied directly. Carrier oils are usually mild in scent, allowing the aroma of the essential oils to shine through. They are also nourishing, providing added benefits to the skin, such as hydration and vitamins.
